Bit by pitbulls in california. What should i do next?

Jyenc asked:

My fiance and my dog were attacked by 2 pitbulls. my fiance’s hand is punctured and my dog’s ear and tail was hurt as well. I have witnesses and filed a police report and got the owner’s address and name. What should i do next? How should i select my lawyer? I am afriad the lawyer will mess up, any reference?

This happened in Chino Hills CA.
I wasn’t on site. The witness called the police. Cops says they couldn’t do much except to file this report for evidence. They asked me to find a lawyer since the owner won’t talk to me.

report the family that owns the pitbulls to the cops…go to the doctor if the dogs havent had their shots for a while!

this same thing recently happened to me, but another person was involved and is trying to sue. i was supposed to be the witness.

first off, don’t file a police report! they’re ANIMALS. it’s what they do.

go to the dr. and get a tetanus shot, then talk to the OWNERS.

gosh are you 2 years old?

You were correct to file a police report. Hopefully, since these animals are dangerous and not controlled by their owners, they will be destroyed by animal control.

there are a lot of animals that are dangerous out there.where is your proof that it is an full blooded american pit bull terrior? i am not blaming you ,i just want to make sure. lots of heat on pit bulls these days, when wheenie dogs are usually meaner.

You better find out if those dogs have been vaccinated for rabies also. What you need is a personal injury lawyer to handle your case. They work for a percentage of the settlement.
