This happened in Chino Hills CA.
I wasn’t on site. The witness called the police. Cops says they couldn’t do much except to file this report for evidence. They asked me to find a lawyer since the owner won’t talk to me.

I m working as a manager with a Pvt Bank.I had applied in a Govt. bank for the post of Officer.At the time of applying,it was mentioned that those working in Govt Sector must submit a No Objection Certificate(N.O.C)along with application.As I was a pvt employee ,therefore this rule did not apply to me.I cleared the written Exam & was called for interview.This time I was asked to carry a N.O.C from My Current Employer if I am employed.When i Clearified from them ,they replied whether i am a Pvt. employee or a Govt Employee,I must submit a NOC at the time of interview(I did not disclose my real identity to them) .I asked my HR for a NOC,for which my employer got annoyed and asked me to resign,& he will issue me a Relieving letter.As i have no other means of survival,i therefore didnt resign & appeared in interview as a unemployed candidate & I am +ve of getting selected in final results.Plz let me know what r consequences if the Govt.Bank comes to know i was employed with a pvt. bank .

Most countries don;t.

How exactly does it work? How are jury members selected – since they are not lawyers or judge;s they don’t even know much about law – so how can they knowledgeably participate in it?

Which countries have jury system? Which don’t.

Can the judge overrule jury – whose decision is the final one – what if they differ?

Can the accused ask for change in jury – does he have a choice? How did this system begin?

I am currently a second year Law student. I have pretty good grades in law school and relatively high ranking in my class. I have 8 years experience in the Navy and would like to go back in the military. I have applied for the JAG but was not selected in the last board.

If I am not selected after the next board I am considering attempting to enter the Air Force ROTC and being an officer upon graduation. I am just wondering if this would be a good idea? After all, I would be able to retire in 12 years.

Is it OK to get a consultation from several lawyers, and then decide which one to use, or am I supposed to do the research and select one before I even get started?

Time is not an issue – these would be proceedings that I am filing, but cost is an issue.

My grandfather (82) is suffering from early dementia and had a few bouts with pneumonia. After he recovered from the pneumonia, he stayed in a rehab to regain his strength so he could return home. At the rehab, he suffered unnecessarily on at least 4 separate occasions due to the incompetence of the rehab staff which set him back terribly in his recovery. We are looking for someone in the Anne Arundel/Baltimore Co areas. My mother, his POA, has asked me to help her find a lawyer and I’m not sure how to select the best one.

This has to be the most stressful situation I ever had to encounter in my life. My union has acted in bad faith, handled my grievance in an arbitrary manner, and showed dishonesty towards me by lying about investigating and wanting to help me. I went to the Human Relations Commission where I live and have documented evidence of the company admitting to doing wrong but my union wants to change policy to fit the employer by telling me that managers are allowed to select shop stewards for union members and that the shop steward who sold me out and manager who wrongfully terminated me through misrepresentation by the steward was not wrong . They threw out my grievance and filed and made one up without me knowing it was filed, I never got a copy of it and they withdrew it for no reason what so ever. I look at cases like Vaca vs. Sipes & Bowen vs USPS and these people had no problem of getting a lawyer to fight the unjust that was done to them by their union and employer.
